Cliff McCaig is a born-and-raised Calgarian who serves the community as a Calgary Fire Department first responder while nurturing his creative side through graphic design, photography and woodworking. He has followed his son Jack’s lacrosse journey for 12 years (Jack is now a second-year Shamrock) and Cliff’s love of the game has spread beyond Jack’s games. Cliff has enjoyed the opportunity to photograph some incredible lacrosse events including the NLL finals, the Minto and Mann Cups and two World Championships. And most recently, Cliff has produced the amazing 2025 Founders Cup logo for the Shamrocks.
The logo celebrates the history of the tournament by incorporating the original Founders Cup trophy while adding touches of Alberta with the Rocky Mountains inlayed within it along with the host team’s signature green and yellow. And the shamrock replacing the ‘O’ in ‘Founders’ is the final homage to the proud host team.
Cliff also brought in Indigenous elements to celebrate our partnership with Tsuut’ina Nation, where the tournament is being held. Between the Indigenous-inspired lightning pattern, the traditional lacrosse sticks and the series of traditional Tsuut’ina triangles found in the logo, Cliff’s design is a nod to the Creator’s Game and a true celebration of lacrosse in Canada.
